SOUTHERN DRAW VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
JANUARY 17-19, 2009
We hope to see
everyone in January for the the 2009 Southern Draw on MLK Jr. weekend.
Last year’s tournament had all age groups at maximum capacity. We encourage your team to
register as soon as possible in order to secure your spot. (Since this is a USA
Volleyball sanctioned event the registration process must go through the
Southern Region of USA Volleyball.)

Detailed Pool Play Match and Team Officiating schedules will be posted as soon as they are approved by the SRVA.
Monday’s
Schedule - Monday's Schedule will be determined by the combined pool play
records on Saturday and Sunday.
Monday's earliest match time is 8:00am.
YOUR TEAM MAY REF the match prior to the first Match you play on Monday.
Please check the schedule to ensure you understand your officiating and
play schedules.
All teams advance to Monday's single elimination playoffs.
Every team will play at least one best of 3 match on Monday.
All matches should be finished by 3pm on Monday afternoon.
Sunday's results and Monday's schedule should be posted in our lobby and
on our website 1 hour after the completion of the last match on Sunday
evening. |
Admission:
There will be a $5 daily admission charge to the facility for all
spectators. A $10 event pass can be purchased that will cover all three
days. Spectators will be required to show their event pass each time they
enter the building. If a pass is lost, then a new pass must be purchased.
The first day begins at 8:00 am for the AM wave. The doors to the
facility will open no earlier than 7:20 am each day. No Exceptions.
Schedule:
Pool Assignments and match schedules will not be available until the day
of the tournament.
No Friday check-in. Please attend the coach's meeting at
the tournament desk 30 minutes prior to your wave on Saturday.
Note to Directors and Coaches:
Please inform your parents and spectators that the tournament
desk will only answer questions directly from participating Club
Directors and/or Coaches. The tournament desks' main function is
to provide timely and accurate results reporting and will be able to do
so if we all limit any distractions throughout the day. The facility
front desk and managers on duty will be available to assist in all
facility related matters.
Food Tables:
We will have one table set up for each team registered for the
tournament. These tables will be located in the center of the facility in
our cafe area. No coolers, food tables, or food trays will be permitted
in any other area of the building. Personal food tables will not be
allowed in the building. AM waves need to have their surrounding
area and table cleaned up by 2:00pm each day. PM waves need to have their
surrounding area and table cleaned up by 8:30pm each day.
Chair Policy:
No personal folding/non-folding chairs will be permitted in the facility.
Small bleacher pads/seats will be permitted. (If your chair has legs
on it, you can not bring it)
Registration:
Registration is being run by the Southern Region of USA Volleyball. To
inquire about any available spots remaining in the tournament, please
visit the SRVA web site at www.srva.org.
Your registration will not become official until the SRVA receives and
approves a completed tournament entry form and receives payment for the
tournament entry fee.
