Big names join forces to create a dynamic partnership for Georgia & beyond

Suwanee Sports Academy and Future Phenom start the year by announcing their new partnership this week.  The companies will work together to create camps, programming and youth basketball tournaments.  Their inaugural joint venture will feature tournaments, camps and mentorship programs.

Suwanee Sports Academy (SSA) is well known for it’s focused approach of nurturing the growth of a whole player through their training programs, leagues and basketball tournaments based out of its 100,000 square foot facility located in the metro-Atlanta area. Future Phenom markets and sells promotional sports products including customized posters, team banners, and team fundraising products with a focal point on empowering young athletes to feel like superstars. The shared values create an ideal space to come together to cross-promote each other’s existing products & services as well as building new enterprises together.

“Our goals and SSA’s goals are well aligned.  We both want to create excitement around the entire sports participation experience.  Sports are such a great tool to learn about life and we both want to celebrate that,” says Theo Ratliff Future Phenom CEO and NBA Veteran.  Both parties agree that branding is key in today’s youth sports environment.  SSA CEO Mike Eddy states, “There are a lot of promotional products targeting the youth sports market.  We decided to partner with Future Phenom because of their long-term brand-centric approach to building a business”.  Ratliff goes on to say, “Suwanee Sports Academy has been running great programs and events for years.  Teaming up with them not only gives our products exposure to thousands of young athletes, it also gives us an experienced and professional partner as we create Future Phenom branded event properties.”

Atlanta, Georgia is home base for both companies but the partnership is expected to springboard their reach to several new markets.  “Theo and his team have ambitious plans to expand upon their brand.  As we build our model together in Georgia, it will be something that can be replicated in other cities and facilities similar to SSA,” says Eddy.  With 16 years as an NBA player, a 2001 All Star, and as Vice President of the NBA Players Association Executive Committee, Theo Ratliff has had the opportunity to foster great relationships with the other NBA athletes.  Ratliff intends to capitalize on those relationships with his NBA friends to grow the venture.
